The origins of the company

The Earth is continually rotating on its axis with  tilt angle and precession. This allows the turbulent mixing of magma in Earth’s core with extremely low shear stress avoiding us to live in a permanent earthquake.

By mimicking this very complex earth movement, researchers of CNRS (IRPHE-Université Aix-Marseille) and Cellura came up with the idea of developing a mixing system that is both efficient and ultra-gentle.

This innovation enables for the first time the cultivation of unicellular microalgae (Dinoflagellates spp.) known to be extremely sensitive to shearing forces, paving the way to other sensitive cells as mammalian cells. Cellura with this breakthrough technology proposes solutions to unlock 3D culture of sensitive cells, adherent or not.

Our vision

Cellular therapy represents an important hope for numerous of deadly diseases like cancer, Parkinson Alzheimer or diabete.

This enormous potential will come true only if cell biomanucturing can overcome existing bottlenecks like the stirring methods (using wheel, helix or turbine) that are not compatible with scale up.

As a consequence, the bioproduction costs are prohibitive and not affordable for public health.

At Cellura, we are committed to developing innovative solutions to unlock 3D-culture of sensitive cells to meet the bioproduction requirements for a wide range of applications, from R&D to clinical needs.

Our bioreactors SoftXS will help you at the cost of a minimal investment to unlock the biomanufacturing of your precious cells.
