Cellura Heads to Boston for Cell & Gene Therapy International 2026
From September 22 to 25, 2026, Cellura will attend Cell & Gene Therapy International 2026 (CGTI) at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts, as part of Biotech Week Boston.
The event brings together more than 3,000 scientists, researchers, clinicians, manufacturing experts and industry leaders working across cell and gene therapy development, manufacturing and commercialization. Its 2026 program is built around a central objective: translating scientific innovation into advanced therapies that can reach patients through more efficient, scalable and reliable development pathways.
For Cellura, this international meeting represents an opportunity to connect with the cell and gene therapy community at a time when cell expansion, process reproducibility and manufacturing scalability are becoming increasingly important to the development of advanced cellular products.
From Scientific Innovation to Scalable Cell Therapy
The rapid evolution of cell therapy is creating increasingly sophisticated biological products. Autologous and allogeneic therapies, iPSC-derived cells and gene-edited cellular products each introduce specific requirements for expansion, characterization and manufacturing.
Moving these technologies toward broader clinical applications therefore requires more than demonstrating biological efficacy. Processes must also become reproducible, scalable and compatible with increasingly standardized manufacturing environments.
These questions are central to the 2026 CGTI program. The dedicated Cell Therapy Manufacturing & Analytics track will explore strategies for improving the production of autologous, allogeneic, iPSC-derived and gene-edited therapies, with particular attention to scalability, automation, process characterization, consistency and quality.
The program also reflects the growing importance of pluripotent stem cell manufacturing, including approaches aimed at reducing process variability and improving reproducibility as these technologies progress toward larger-scale therapeutic applications.
Cell Culture at the Heart of Advanced Therapy Development
As cellular products become more complex, the conditions under which cells are expanded remain an important part of process development.
Immune cells, pluripotent stem cells and other sensitive cellular systems must often be expanded while maintaining the biological characteristics required for their intended application. At the same time, processes developed at research scale need to evolve toward workflows capable of delivering greater consistency and larger production capacities.
The challenge is therefore not simply to produce more cells. It is to establish controlled culture strategies that can accompany advanced cellular models from research and process development toward scalable applications.
This perspective closely aligns with Cellura’s work in advanced cell culture.
Through the development of SoftXS™, Cellura is exploring a gentle and controlled approach to the culture of sensitive biological systems. Its work with immune cells, pluripotent stem cells and advanced 3D models provides a relevant foundation for discussions with teams addressing cell expansion, process development and the transition toward more reproducible culture workflows.
A Program Focused on the Future of Cell and Gene Therapy
Beyond manufacturing, CGTI 2026 will explore the broader technological transformation of advanced therapies.
The conference includes dedicated tracks on emerging cell and gene therapies, cell therapy manufacturing and analytics, and gene therapy manufacturing and analytics. Topics range from next-generation therapeutic development and gene editing to process scale-up, analytical strategies and commercialization.
The program also highlights the transition from scientific development toward clinical manufacturing. Sessions scheduled throughout the event will address topics such as scaling ex vivo cell therapy manufacturing, the transition from R&D to clinical manufacturing, and the path toward commercialization.
CGTI is also co-located with BioProcess International, giving registered participants access to additional scientific and industrial discussions around bioprocess development and manufacturing as part of Biotech Week Boston.
For Cellura, this convergence between cell biology, process development and industrial translation makes Boston an especially relevant environment for scientific and technological exchange.
Meet Cellura in Boston
Cellura’s participation in Cell & Gene Therapy International 2026 will provide an opportunity to meet researchers, cell therapy developers, process development teams and industrial partners working on the next generation of advanced cellular products.
The team looks forward to discussing current challenges in cell expansion, sensitive cell culture, process reproducibility and scale-up, while exploring how controlled culture approaches could complement emerging cell therapy workflows.
These exchanges are also an opportunity to better understand the evolving requirements of the field and identify new opportunities for scientific and technological collaboration.
Connecting Cell Culture Innovation with the Future of Advanced Therapies
Cell and gene therapy is entering a phase in which scientific innovation and manufacturing innovation must progress together.
As new therapeutic modalities move toward larger patient populations, the ability to develop controlled, reproducible and scalable cell culture processes will remain an important part of their translation.
By attending Cell & Gene Therapy International 2026, Cellura continues to engage with the international advanced-therapy community and contribute to discussions surrounding the future of cell culture and bioprocess development.
We look forward to meeting the community in Boston from September 22 to 25, 2026.
